DJ JR's Build Thread

Hi I'm Djracer's son Cade. I'm only twelve years old but I already have a love for cars and trucks. I have over 400 hotwheels and tons of drag racing and monster trucks collectables. I am looking forward to helping my dad build my 70 model stepside soon to be ProStreet truck. I'm not real crazy about the color because I'm a huge bama fan but it will stay this color till I have my own job. We already have a fuel cell for it and a set of Qa1 coilovers. We are gonna run atleast a 12 inch real wheel and a big tire. Thanks to Butter for the deal on the truck. Here are a few pics of what we are starting with.

Good Luck with it!

Yes it will but not by him for a while since he's 12. I want to get it together so he can learn to drive and race in it then if he wants it to be his daily driver we can upgrade to an LS motor and an overdrive one day.

He is awesome with a computer but the truck came with a 454 and that will probably go in it first. we have a full plate just to get it driveable but If he wants it for a DD we will make the swap later.

Re: DJ JR's Build Thread

Cade has been going to the drag races since before birth. I have taken him to several national event drag races and hundreds of local races. I have taken him to car shows and cruise ins and started collecting hot wheels and collectables at a really early age. At first I would have to buy two of each of the monster trucks so he could play with one and hang the other in his room.

I took him to a rodeo or monster truck show in town when he was about 3 yrs old and I got the shock of my life. We stopped at Mcdonalds on the way home and they had a couple of older pictures of the Mcdonalds funny car and dragster on the wall. I thought I would impress the guys and asked Cade what those cars were on the wall. I expected a funny car and a dragster. With out blinking an eye he said thats Cruz Pedregon and Cory Mac. This was a year or two after the guys had lost the Mcdonald's sponsorship. I sat there scratching my head. It took me a week or two to figure out how he new that. He had some of my old And They Walked Away tapes in his room and had watched them crash and catch on fire. I will never forget that as long as I live.

I hope he stays a car/truck guy forever.

thats awesome! way to keep the kids into it man. the more i wonder around on this site i find that the people on here are more then gear heads they are real character driven individuals. from the response and thanks i get from the people on here when i come home from deployments to guys like you inspiring their children and keeping them interested in the culture. someday when im done with the army and i settle down i hope to have a son that will be into it as much as i am.

DJ JR. welcome and good luck little guy. we will be watching out for you on the streets!
