Turd Chaser.......
Here we go guys... one day about three years ago , i received a phone call from one of my buddies , he told me that he had this old truck that he had parked out on a piece of property ,and he needed it moved or gone so he said I could have it. I went out to this ranch and I come to find out that it belonged to e septic tank company and was one of their service vehicles that where the name Turd Chaser came from.... I dragged this turd home with no plans at that point..... after I got the truck home and let it sit for several months , my nephew called and asked what I was going to do with the Turd Chaser. I said Why? He explained to me that he wanted a cool truck for his first ride so I decided at that point that I would build this truck for him. Needless to say the truck needed to be completely gone through. It was a real turd !!! 1967 GMC long bed 3 on the tree, straight 6 . this truck was so bare bones that it didn't even have a passenger side arm rest or sun visor.... It was a base truck by all standards..... By the way about a year into the build my nephew ended up buying a Subaru...... Again I was left with the Turd Chaser. Here are the photos of how I was able to polish a turd. I hope you enjoy the story......

Re: Turd Chaser.......
A few more of the rust repair on the floor. It was pretty bad on the rockers when the windows were blown out.

Re: Turd Chaser.......
Looks like a nice truck to build. Not so sure you will be loving it's name once it gets nice looking. I named mine "Meet Homer (The Motor Home), problem is now he's not a motor home at all. Not even close. Tried to get the moderator's to let me change the name to (formerly a motor home) or just Homer. No dice.
Anyhow, gonna follow along for the ride.

Re: Turd Chaser.......
The old rear end had to go in favor of a newer 5 lug unit out of a 91 chevy... also updated the front to 5 lug disc.... much nicer....

Re: Turd Chaser.......
So the original bed was way too far gone so I just happened to have a 67 bed is great condition to swap over to the Turd Chaser.... Lift gates tend to destroy truck beds over time.... HAHAHAHAHAH..

Re: Turd Chaser.......
As you can see the front sheet metal was in pretty good condition, with just minor body work so I was able to run that. here are some shots of it going into primer... by the way i had also lowered the truck with 2.5 drop spindles, lowered coils and new rear lowered leaf springs...

Re: Turd Chaser.......
Look'n good in the neighborhood!!!
Glad to see disc brakes!!! Rear leaf springs give one a few more options when going disc brakes. Ironic that the turd chaser would be wee wee yellow... Curious to see what the nephew thinks, when you are done... Gotta a color in mind??? I have a similar 67 Chevy, need to get to working on, no pass side arm rest or sun visor, 283 and glide were long gone, I have better stuff What brand of wheels???
