Which are the best hooks for my peg board...

I was trying to organize my tools and got tired of the little hooks I bought at the local Lowes falling off everytime I remove a tool. I remember years ago where the hooks would fit snugly in place and you would have to force them to go in. They stayed in place. The ones I bought fit loosely in the holes and I couldn't find any that were a good tight fit.

Does anyone have any recommendations on which hooks to use or where to buy them?

I have a bunch of the cheaper hooks as well. My (cheap) fix, was to stick a small Harbor Freight zip tie through the holes on each side of the hook and tie it down. Has worked for several years. If you need to move the hook, cut the tie, move it, and tie it on again.

Good idea but won't work for me. I have one pegboard nailed to studs and plan on adding another large one. Basically I will have almost half the garage wall as a peg board.

I think I have too many tools.

I don't think it's possible to have too many tools, just maybe too many for how much storage you have. LOL

I only have it like that on (2) 4'x4' sheets. Hopefully someone on here will have a better solution for you. There are some amazing people on here!!

Re: Which are the best hooks for my peg board...

Hi!

I've had the same problem drive me nuts and give me temper tantrums. I found these pegboard attach clips to keep the hooks in the pegboard. Work like a charm. I was going to send you to Home Depot to get a bagful and give the web address, but they are not listed stand-alone anymore except in their pegboard assortment kits. Claim that they're reuseable. I swear I got them at Home Depot the last time. I've got most of my shop walls covered in pegboard, keeping the less frequently used stuff up high (need ladder to reach).

Cheap zip tie idea is also a great one, except that I would have to prebend the end into a "j" hook - I have no access to the backside of the pegboard like one of the other responders. Might be able to do that with a mandrel and a heat gun.
