Swapping from 4spd to TH350 issue

I'm making the swap in my 69 K20 from the manual trans and Rockwell to a TH350 with NP205 that I got from a 72. I have the automatic crossmember from the 72 but the trans mount is 2 1/4 inches off from the bracket. Has anyone done this swap? I would guess that the easiest solution is to drill the holes for the bracket into the frame. Am I right or am I missing something?Name: image.jpg

Should be an easy swap. Do you have a 6 cylinder or 8 cylinder engine?

You need to drll new holes, because of the Rockwell transfer case to the NP205 conversion. I had to do this on my 69 going from a 4 speed/Rockwell to a 4 speed/NP205. You will a also need different length driveshafts.

Re: Swapping from 4spd to TH350 issue

Will a 454 bolt up to the Rockwell with the 4 speed 4x4?
Does anyone know what changes are needed to make this conversion?
We have a 71 GMC and want to put a 454 in place of the 350.

Thanks,
Willie
