Opinions on loading suspension before torquing
I did a complete overhaul on a 1990 gmc s15 jimmy i had yrs ago and before i disassembled everything, with the tire still on, i took a measurement from the ground to the bottom of the lower control arm. After swapping everything, I raised the floor jack under the control arm to that measurement and torqued the control arms to spec. The jimmy had rubber bushings in the control arms and i didn't want to stress the rubber bushings when jacking up the control arms up with them being tight already.
Should I do this on my 64 c10 or being it has metal bushings, I don't have to worry about it?
