35's stock height?

has anyone been able to fit 35's at stock height? i think it would clear in front with possible fender trimming in the front but i am not so sure it would clear in the rear. any input would be appreciated and if you have managed to fit 35's at stock height please post pictures if you could

Re: 35's stock height?

I don't think I've ever seen 35s on a stock height truck. I used to run 14.50/37s on 10" wheels w/4" lift and had to cut the front fenders and the front corner of the rear wheel opening,if that gives any reference.

Re: 35's stock height?

I think the wheel wells on the 67-72s might have been the biggest GM make. 60-66s are huge too. I had a 62 burban that had 35s on it, all stock.

The rear is never a problem. The 89 GMC SAS I built had 40s on the back with no lift. It depends on what brand and size of tire it is, also the rim width and b/s.

Re: 35's stock height?

35's fit fine on my truck with no lift. I've had to trim the fenders a bit and they will still scrub every now and then.

No, mine is a 76. I guess that doesn't really help you much. The sidewalls will lightly rub the bed side of the wheel well some, but that is a backspacing issue.

Re: 35's stock height?

Hmm,I have 12.50/35s with 4" lift on an '85 and they will rub. I don't see how 35s can work on a 73-87 with no lift.
I have run 12.50/35 BFG A/Ts on 8" wheels on a '72 K/20 with Add-A-Leaf,no cutting,and they rubbed.

Re: 35's stock height?

I was told you needed a 2" lift to clear 33s ,but after installing it looks like I could clear 35s now.

Re: 35's stock height?

I had 33 12.5 16.5 on a 72 C20 with no lift. They filled the wheel well nicely lol. I think if it would have gone "off road" there would have been some rubbing problems.

And I think I read in a couple of responses to this thread (too lazy to go back lol). If you put a tire on your truck with no lift and they "fit fine", but had to cut your wheel openings .... the tires didn't fit fine

You got me, and you are correct. My 35s fit fine after trimming off some rust.
