Help with original steering ram system.??
Okay, I bought this truck with power steering cylinder bracket busted at the frame mount. Have you guys seen this system before?? On the bottom of the pitman arm is a slave cylinder that distributes the fluid to the weird "shock absorber" looking ram.
The ram is hooked to the steering linkage and the other end goes into a fixed bracket on the frame...(so the ram has something to push against to turn the wheels) Alright so i welded on a new bracket and ordered a new ram cylinder, it came with 2 rubber bumpers for the fixed side with the threads. Theres a cotter pin in that end also. Question is do i use some large washers on either end of the rubber bumpers...and should i use lock nuts.....please help with a proper mounting pic. Ill try to attach some pics cuz i know we all love em here.LOLOL |
