Calling All 67-72 Stepsides With Next Gen Fenders

Hey guys, as much as I love my truck, the 67 stepside fenders really have no definition or personality. Would love to see some pics of trucks of our generation with the next generation (73-87) stepside fenders on them. I'm considering the swap, and am wanting to know if it'd look good before I tear into it. Thanks guys.

i vote against it.. the wheel arches are too square on the 73-87s

I say NO on the 73-87 bed fenders. They are way to bulky and do not go well with our trucks. I love the Original stepsides on the 67-72 chevy/gmc. If you dont like it why not buy a fleetside bed for it?

That is not a good look. Front wheel archs are smoothly curved and the rear is square. That upsets the entire look of the truck.

You're right, after seeing that picture, the square arches do not match the front wheel arches. Looks a tad ridiculous.

It's not that I don't like the stepsides, in fact I prefer them in many cases, but I was just toying with the idea.

That was a quick shootdown, haha. Thanks for your input guys.

It wouldn't be so bad if there were 2 axles back in the back or something and there were two sets of wheels...Actually.. after 20 minutes with MS paint, it still doesn't look right bleh

Re: Calling All 67-72 Stepsides With Next Gen Fenders

Most of the time I prefer the stock look. The biggest mod I'd make to a step is side boxes on the "right truck" But I can understand wanting something a little different. Like you said the stock fenders are a little plain but are a "one year item". So don't butcher them. If you want to be creative look through pictures and see if something looks pleasing or desirable in some way. Paste ups can confirm a look as we have seen. But really much beyond some sort of cycle fender or chopped semi fenders coming with something cool is likely difficult.

To me the Stepside fenders go perfectly with the body style
