C20 LCA On a C10
Was at wrecking yard the other day and they had some C20s and I noticed that the spring pocket in the lower control arm is quite a bit deeper than my C10 arms. Anyone else notice this? i would guess at least an inch deeper.
And the bushing is not the big rubber one. Its more compact and would be less likely to drag. So my question is will these C20 LCAs fit on my C10. Will a C10 lower ball joint fit the C20 arm? Whats with the bushings. How do you service (replace) them? Are the c20 uppers any different than the c10? I read somewhere that the shafts were thicker giving added positive camber. ? This is on a squarebody 81+ Thanks Posted via Mobile Device

The different bushings are the same used pre-73 for all GM trucks. They're the standard metal sleeve w/a rubber lining. Local auto parts should still carry them (they screw onto the arm/shaft combo). The C20/30 upper shafts are thicker which would yield more positive camber vs the C10's w/the same qty of shims. But... the C10 upper shaft studs are 1/2"; the C20/30's are 9/16" so using the C20 shafts would require the larger retaining studs (& the work to make it happen).

Thanks for the info.
Do you know if the ball joint taper/size is the same? Posted via Mobile Device

Re: C20 LCA On a C10
I'm pretty sure the stud size was larger on the C20/30 joint but I've never put a caliper to know how much difference.
