Re: CD players obsolete?
As a media for listening to in vehicles, yes, they are done. My 2009 Escape came with the Sync package with a CD player. The CD has been used once when a friend had an odd CD he wanted to listen to on a long trip. Otherwise, it is either OTA, Flash drive full of MP3s, or 3.5mm input from a portable device. One friend paired a iPod via bluetooth to play tunes.
Even if you have CDs, rip them to MP3 type files and store on a digital media. Make sure your new radio has a USB port to plug in your flash drives. IMO - the best flash drive is one that holds a micro SD card. Whole thing is about the size of a fingernail. |
