4 speed adapt help

I have both mechanical pedals/linkage from the 72 and hydraulic pedals linkage from a later model. My bell housing is from the hydraulic. Tranny is a sm465 mated to a 205. My question is if anyone would have info on the best route to convert mechanical to the hydraulic.. Truck was an auto ..

Should I use period correct pedals and fashion a hydraulic linkage to them? Should I chop on the later model pedals that went with hydraulics to make them fit ? Should I just take mechanical pedals and linkage and adapt fork and housing?

What would you/ did you do? Any links or pics much appreciated!

Re: 4 speed adapt help

I don't have pics- 'cuz I haven't gotten around to my clutch conversion yet, but you can either use the '72 pedals and adapt a small master cylinder to them. This would basically be a pushrod that attaches to the pedal arm and goes through the firewall to a properly mounted master......OR, you could scare up a linkage based 4-speed bellhousing and use your vintage pedals AND linkage.
Hacking up the late model pedal assembly sounds like the most difficult of the options.
