Post Transmission help!

I have a 1970 GMC shortbed that I bought new, had a three speed in it and I changed out to a saginaw 4 speed. I also still have the two piece driveshaft. I am not pleased with the saginaw and would like to go to a muncie 4-speed: questions
Which Muncie will fit, the length is 21.5 inches.
Which input and output spline do I have (10-27?)
Anyone have any preferences on Muncies? m-20, 21 or 22?
Also I have no transmission crossmember, didn't have with 3 spd, or with saginaw 4 spd, would I need one with the Muncie?
I would certainly appreciate any suggestions.

What don't you like about the saginaw? A muncie is just a WAY more $$$$ Saginaw. To answer your questions, all Saginaws had a 10 spline input, the output yopu have is the smae as a th 350. If you get a Muncie it will either have the big or small output, you'll notice when you see it. You won't need a trans x-member. It will just slide in where your saginaw was. You will need a different shifter mount, but those are easy to come by. You won't need a new bell either, all standard trnasmissions of that era had the same bolt pattern to the bell. Good luck.
