Post dana60 vs. 12 bolt measurement

can anyone find out or does anyoen know for sure if the centerline of the axle tube, (across length of axle) forward to the pinion yoke is more/longer than the same measuremnet on a 12 bolt axle ?

need to know

Randy, I can't tell you what the exact measurement is, but I can tell you for sure the distance from axle centerline to ujoint centerline is a lot longer on the Dana 60. The ring gear alone is 7/8 bigger in diameter and the pinion gear is longer than the 12 bolt.

crap, hmm, got a good point there regarding ring gear, hmmmm, probably about 2-3" difference then
hmm i need a 14 bolt or a dana 60 then.

i now have a 12 bolt 72 5 lug for sale, complete axle or trade for ?
