Crate Motor?

I have recently purchased a 71 longhorn with the original motor, a 350. I have had some problems due to it sitting a while in a barn and am trying to decide the best approach to get a mechanically sound truck. Should i focus on rebuilding the original motor or look for a crate motor? If a new motor is the way to go, though expensive, who is the best vendor on a cost standpoint and what things should I look out for to ensure I don't make the wrong choice.

The body is in great shape with very minimal rust, original paint, radio, shocks, the whole truck is original. New to this, but want to do a solid resotration for a daily driver.

Help?
