You guys might get a kick outta this!

My horn button emblem was all cracked and crappy lookin so I was bored in the garage tonight and got a dumb idea. I cut out a piece of plastic the same shape as the old emblem, and then found a pic of a custom grille in an lmc catalog and stuck em together slipped it back into the horn button and now I have an awesome looking horn button again for free lol.

PS I've seen it done before on here but I think the person used a flowmaster sticker. So the thread isn't anything new but I laughed at how good it looks for just being a piece of plastic and a cutout of from an LMC mag lol.

Looks good!
Looks better than the ziptie I'm using for a gear indicator needle. glued it on and painted it when I was painting the other gauges.

Re: You guys might get a kick outta this!

Diggin on that GMC Steering wheel fix!!!!

Hey... but you gotta do what you gotta do tho... even if it is mildly ghetto

I cleaned up my interior... and painted my steering wheel, and panels the same color....
also, experimented with shelf-paper for the woodgrain look.....
surprising what you can do on a budget!!!

That's one of the things I love about our trucks... The respond so well to backwoods modification! I swear, with a square, the weirder it is, the better it turns out! Nice work!

Re: You guys might get a kick outta this!

Nice! What'd you use to paint the door panels? Mine are all beat up and faded and I'd love to clean them up, also match them to the dash and the rest of the trim (it was blue, originally, but I found some nice brown stuff that wasn't all cracked and ***ed up looking).

Re: You guys might get a kick outta this!

Pretty nice DIY solution! If you want to beef it up some more, find a high quality PDF or JPG online of a GMC logo and get a professional print. A Walgreens can do it for cheap. I would anticipate that magazine clipping fading or falling apart over time.

Re: You guys might get a kick outta this!

Thanks for the comments fellas. I actually went to the junk yard yesterday and found another horn button in mint shape! But now I'll have a "custom" spare one lol. I also found a mint instrument bezel, cab moulding, drip rail, a radio, headliner, and lots of other interior stuff. My buddy sent me a message with some pics today of a truck he found in another scrap yard with a mint black interior!! So I'm gonna go and take it all lol. I'm planning on changing my whole truck to black, so if these parts work out i'll be laughing!!
