carb spacers
Question I will be getting a new carb soon (road demon) Thinking of running a 1/2 inch phenolic spacer 4 hole. My reasons are two fold, phenolic to stop so much heat transfer to carb 4 hole to get more low end power. I am running the rpm air gap intake from edelbrock. Any thoughts on this worth the trouble and expense or worth a try?

Phenolic spacers are well worth the money, we have been using them on race engines for years and I can say with great success.

I've got a 1" phenolic 4 hole spacer for in between my edelbrock performer carb and intake. I've heard lots of good things, so I figure I'll try it.

Phenolic spacers are a definate must have.

Has anyone tried a Swirl Torque spacer? I've seen them in Summit for like $30 and was considering one.

Also is it true the 4 hole is better for low end and open better for top end?

I think the 4 hole is called a Swirl Torque. At least that's what I've seen them called.

Some four holes are swirl and some are smooth.

Hard to say, in theory it would buuuuttt. In real world hard to say. I will stick with noswirl mainly because of the price difference.

Put mine on in about 15 min. 4 hole between a stealth and a 750 performer. I like the difference. Pulls hard in the bottom, had 4500# on the trailer and really didn't shift that much going up mild hills. Added about 20' more of burn out.
