Kind of looks like a regular heater box that had the left side portion of the box removed and the right side capped???? I see the square in the firewall pad was removed for the mounting tab. Is there a hole for a mounting screw drilled in the square? Are the heater controls different from a regular truck? IE: standard heater controls or A/C?

There is NOT a hole drilled in the square for a mounting hole and the heater controls are standard, non-A/C. To the left (drivers side) of the main box, is a small rectangular box with 2 outlets facing up towards the dash for the 2 defroster vents. I'll try to take clearer pics in the next day or so.

Here's a couple more pics. One with standard (junk I might add) heater controls and then another angle from the drivers side. Is this an odd-ball heater box? Was it 67 only or something like that?

Well I can't tell you anything for sure, but here is my best guess. My 67 came with 4 whopping options. One of the 4 is a deluxe heater. With the exception of the black controls it looks just like the one in my 71 Suburban and every other truck in my back yard. My 67 controls look just like in your picture too. So my best guess is that is the standard heater, probably few out there but probably not real desirable either.
