96 Impala SS wheels

Has anyone tried 96 Impala SS wheels on a 67-72 truck? How do they look? Is the offset a problem? Aluminum 17 x 8.5" wheels have a 5" bolt center and 6.00mm offset. Just a thought.

Well I owned a brand new 96 SS at one time, but both of my trucks
were 6 lug so I never got to try it, I think they would look pretty

Impala Wheels

I believe that the SS wheels are 5 x 4.75" while the 71'-72' trucks are 5 x 5. They would look great but fit is an issue...

nope caprices and ss's were all a 5 on 5 bolt pattern the camaros and vettes and things like that were a 5 on 4.75 bolt pattern.....

i used to use our old caprice wheel to move my truck around with.... same bolt pattern, i will get pics this weekend hopefully with them on there

I think they'd look good. I have 6 of 'em - 5 with tires, 4 of which have about 600 miles on them.

So are you dangling bait? Six rims and you live in Sacramento.

I like the idea of filling the wheel well with teh 17" rims and tires and the design of the rims have been a favorite of mine since 1996 when I realized the Impala SS existed.

Does anyone think there will be a problem with offset?

We have several members here with those wheels on 67-72 trucks.

They are available new from GM performance parts for about 140 each too, with a center cap and five lugnuts included. Size is indeed 17x8, 5 on 5 pattern.

tomatocity,

that's what I have for sale right now on the parts board. Mine are BOYDS but they originally went on the caprices and monte carlo's. If you check out the link in my sig you can see them also.

this board member has a set and there's a pic on his public profile:
