Smile Love those Magnaflows

Well, I just got done installing my new Summit headers and dual Magnaflow mufflers on my 69 SB with a 350 and WOW what a difference from glasspacks or flowmasters
Sounds mellow at idol but it really barks when you get on the throttle.
Thanks to all the guys on here that suggested the Magnaflows
I was going to run them out the side but I am glad I ran them out the back.

Sorry but I can't make a video, but you can go to YouTube and search Magnaflow Muffler which is what I did but it does not give the true sound

They are oval stainless 20" long 4" high 9" wide, paid about $60.00 through Summit Racing
Ran them to 2 1/2" pipes

Very nice!

I just might have to check into Magnaflows.

So Steve where they any more expensive than the Flowmasters?

Magnaflows are not chambered like the flowmasters are. I think they are more expensive in general.

Re: Love those Magnaflows

I've got a super 40 Flowmaster on my Tundra, and it reverberates BAD. It's really loud in the cab at certain RPM's. How are the Magnaflows for that?

Re: Love those Magnaflows

I get nothing at all in the cab or anywhere else, no reverbs or anything like that, all the great sound is in the back and it is loud only when you really get into it. At idle or regular driving it is just a nice mellow rumble (outside) the truck.

My Magnaflows dump just ahead of the rear axle. There's a nice deep rumble just above idle, but it's not loud or objectionable (even for a geezer ), just a bit louder than at idle or cruise. There's no bad reverberation or booming at any rpm.

yep, been using them for years and love them. Last forever and well worth the money. I have a set of 2 1/2 ones to go on the 72' when I get a chance.

Re: Love those Magnaflows

I love mine too, my exhaust terminates halfway down the bed just in front of the axle , I get a little reverb at idle but not bad. My 12 year old heard a truck with headers and cherrybombs the other day and says, "Dad our truck sounds so much cooler than that one"....., Smart Kid IMO!

Re: Love those Magnaflows

I've been running a Magnaflow on a '95 Chevy with a V-6, ever since the Flowmaster rotted out. It's been 7 years on the Magnaflow and still no issues whatsoever! It'll never sound like a V-8, but it sounds REALLY good for a V-6. Also, as mentioned above, Magnaflows don't have the reverb problems and just sound better all around.

Re: Love those Magnaflows

Better sounding than flows by far IMO. That and fairly unique. Everyone has a flowmaster these days, the sound to me isn't interesting with the exception of a few cars

Re: Love those Magnaflows

I like them "and" Flowmasters,as well as many other mufflers.Even with the same mufflers different motors with different pipe diameters and lengths have varied sounds.I run Magnaflow 6" round with 3" full length pipes run out behind the rear wheels on my`91 Suburban.I love that sound.my`72 runs 2 1/4" pipes about the same way but with 2 chamber Flowmasters. It sounds awesome, too.I have old Walker Chambered Turbo Tubes to run with 2 1/2" pipes that will exit dumping down from the rear 1/4s on my`67.When pipes exit under the body is when you get alot of resonation.
