1962 project motor and tranny idea
hey guys.
my new project is a 62 with a 305 v6 5L. previous owner installed a new t5 tranny 5 speed. i am going to convert the truck from the torsion to a coil spring front end. i need help knowing what motor and tranny combos fit best. also, my 305 is in great shape, how much should i sell it for? along with the tranny? aftermarket a/c kit? thanks for the input |

Re: 1962 project motor and tranny idea
You will probably change the suspension crossmember, so almost any engine made by Chevy before the LS will be a bolt in, and mount adapters are available for the LS if you want one. Your T-5 will bolt up to a Chevy bellhousing. If you are wanting an automatic, it will be no more work to use a 200-4R or 700-R4 than something older.
