Deal?
Just curious what all you guys think. Are you guys more willing to give someone on the board a better deal than someone who is not? When I think about this question and consider how much the board members help each other I think I would.

Re: Deal?
I agree with you. I would rather pass on a deal or sometimes give it free to a board member. I have been helped by some of the members and try to help when I can. That is my opinion .

Re: Deal?
I'd much rather buy from a member but there are some that are here just to sell stuff and they are not "vendors." There's no problem with that, but I always consider how long they have been a member before purchasing.

Re: Deal?
I have given plenty of free parts to other member as well as sold my take off parts to memebers for a real cheap price so to answer your questions yes I would give a better deal.

Re: Deal?
I also try to help out fellow members when I can, don't really deal with locals that much where I live.

Re: Deal?
Being a new member, i would accept price breaks, but not expect them.
I definitely like to help others, and have been helped out myself. So i say help if you can And return the favor as you can. Dollars last for days, friends will Last forever. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Deal?
Answering questions and giving advice takes time and effort. So, if I can repay that kindness with a little break in price of something or giving something for free, I will. Seems like the right thing to do, help those that help you.

Re: Deal?
I always list my parts on here first for a cheaper price then I can sell it on ebay for.
If they dont sell after a while I will list them on ebay. I'd rather deal with members & give them a better deal. I'd give members a shot at my trucks first & give them a better deal as well. |

Re: Deal?
Several times a month, I ship out free parts to other members.
If it's a new guy, I check his posts to get a feel if he's serious about building a truck or just a hopeless dreamer. If he's serious, I give him the parts. Sometimes, if the parts I'm giving away are worth a decent bit, I ask the guy to become a supporting member of this site, and when he does, I ship the parts to him for free. This helps Josh and Liz, who have been damn good to me in the past. If it's something real nice I have for sale, I still sell it cheaper than it's worth. As I get older, I realize, what goes around, comes around. |

Re: Deal?
There's no reason not to, really. I hate looking on Craigslist and seeing parts that people are price gouging, just because it is for a "67-72 Chevy truck". I've gotten to the point at garage sales we have, to price everything to sell, not make a bunch of money. I'd rather give it away for a little, than not sell it for a lot (if that makes any sense).
If someone I know needs something and I have it, I'm happy to cut them a good break or just outright give it to them.

Re: Deal?
Well said everyone. It reflects the same reasons I will spend a great deal of time tracking down tidbits of data or decoding nearly lost SPIDs. That is my way of giving to our community.
