Can someone help me identify this color?

By way of introduction, I'm relatively new to the forum, but have been lurking for a while. I recently acquired my uncle's 1966 C10. It is pretty much rust free (rare for my neck of the woods) and only has 28,000 original miles.

It is all original, except my uncle had it repainted once. It was red when I got it, but as I've been prepping it for paint, I found areas that were not repainted that look more orange than they do red. However, it isn't quite orange, so I'm having some trouble deciding whether it was red or orange.

Now, before you blast me about finding the paint code, someone, unfortunately, removed the trim tag from the driver footwell. I assume it was my uncle or the painter that did the 1 repaint 20+ years ago. My uncle passed last summer, so I don't have the ability to ask him.

If you have any thoughts, please let me know. I think this truck was originally red (although would love for someone to tell me I'm wrong) but I can't say that I've ever seen an original red or orange 66 in person.

Thanks for any input you have.

Mike

Re: Can someone help me identify this color?

Guys - thanks for the thoughts and input. Once I found the original color, I was pretty happy to see what appeared to be orange. I'm a little color blind with reds and greens, so I appreciate all the responses.

This is a great forum and I'm looking forward to getting my truck on the road. Travis at ProPerformance has been very helpful assisting me with disc brake conversion, airbag setup and wheels. Can't wait to get those items so I can get started with the major work.
