Re: BFG's/Rallys

Here's my truck before I tore it down. It is dropped 2.5/4.0, with 15x10's on the back and 275-60R15's. As you can see, there's plenty of room. If your truck is stock height, you'll have plenty of clearance. The first pic is after it was lowered, before I put the wider rallye wheels on it.

Re: BFG's/Rallys

I have 275/60/15's on the truck now, and it has a 3/3 drop with just coils. That is the first picture. In the second picture, the truck during "reconstruction" with rally wheels and 255/70/15's. With the stock height, the 255's filled up the fenderwells really nicely.
No problems with either set up.

235-70R15's on the front and 255-70R15's on the rear with 8-in Rallyes all around. Lowered 2 inches using ECE's Springs all the way around. Never an issue.

Re: BFG's/Rallys

My tires for my panel are 275 60 15's (my av). Course I haven't put em on yet. I looked at a lot of truck pics here on the board before I bought em. Since the panel is so big I wanted a decent sized tire so they wouldn't be dwarfed. Looking at these pics assures me once again I made a good choice.

Heres mine with a 5.5" Drop in Front and a 6" Drop in the Rear, running the Tire size (in the rear) that you mentioned.

Re: BFG's/Rallys

...planing to lower mine just a bit (maybe 2.5 front and 3 rear ?) and keep 15 wheels(looking at AR500's x 8"?).. I want as much rubber as I can get under there in height and width without scrubbing of couse..Is there a "rule of thumb" to go by when choosing the wheels and tires BEFORE buying and then realizing you could have gone a little larger ?? thanks!

I think I have the setup you are asking about. 3/5 drop, 8 inch rallys and 275/60r15 tires front and back. It has never rubbed.

..that does look good!..I thought 3/5 would be too much for my old age but I like that with those size tires..
