Decisions, Decisions, What Engine To Build?

Since the 72 is done now, and about to parked for the winter, ive decided to start thinkin about more motor, was thinkin of an lt1 or ls1 swap, for power and mileage, then on the other hand a mild 402 build, then my other choice a 383 or 377 stroker, i could just to a wild 350 build, but that would be to easy. Any input? I really like the ls1, but i also like the old school carb and chrome look.

Go for a stroked 400 turned into a 427 in a small block package.Big cubes from approx the same weight.

How do you do that? Build a 427 out of a 400, you've got my attention.

It's a 4" stroke in a standard bore (4.125") 400. If you go .030" over bore, it becomes a 434. It really gets expensive quick building these stroked 400's, and the production blocks aren't all that strong to begin with. The block needs to be clearanced, have to use a small base circle cam, the wrist pin gets pushed into the oil ring pack, and you should plan on some good flowing heads to take advantage of what you just put together. Those are a few drawbacks. The good news is they have great torque, can be made to look like any old 350, and they weigh less than a big block. Someone said it takes M-O-N-E-Y to put one together, he's not joking.

My next build will be a 327 block with a 283 crank, balanced and blueprinted of course. Roller conversion, aluminum heads, Two small turbos, you get the idea.

6.0 LSx with a t56 or 4L60. Stock pullout motor with a cam swap and you have 400hp, EFI, and good mileage when you want to go easy on it.
