Question alternator upgrade

Been a few years since I had to do this. Put on an alternator that is internally regulated, I know how to jump the regulator end of harness, just don't remember how the red, white and blue wires go on the alternator end. Good discription or photo would be very helpfull

Nothing there. Do the blue and white wires from the exsisting harnes, go into the new style plug?? Looking from the lock/clip of the new plug, wires to the back, is blue on the left or right or used at all. Ha

lots of info. I have seen the new connector with red and white wires
old harnes has black (ground) blue and white in connector and red to alternator

connect new red and white to which??

Using that plug, the red (ground) is attached to the case of the new alternator, and the white (lead) is attached to the powered lead from the fuse block (white wire-on my 71 anyway). The other wires from the old alternator plug are unused using this adaptor, and the jump wire is used in the plug off of the old voltage regulator. The old voltage regulator can be removed or left attached to the radiator support, whichever you prefer. By the way, the black section of that white wire in the photo is not tape, it is the resistence diode, which meets GM specs according to the maker.

I was wondering why not just get a 15.00 conversion kit and that way you dont have to mess w/ the harness mods/cutting?
