'68 GMC Camper Special (Custom Camper)
So this truck has been sitting at the last house I lived at for about ten years now with no one who cares about her. I talked to the owner of the house and he is willing to sell the truck to me. He doesn't own the truck but believes the truck is non opt and he can get me the title. He's asking $2500 and I said no way and offered him $1500, he said okay. I guess the guy who owns it just dose not want anything to do with the truck anymore. I need a truck I can work out of until my '62 is done. This will be my beater for now but I hope to fix her up more someday or sell her to someone who will. For now I wait to see if he can get the paperwork. From the VIN I can see it is a '68 built in Fremont CA " both of my other trucks were built there as well" and had a v-8. I found what was left of the build sheet in the back of the seat, that says it was a 327cu in originally "long gone" the rear end is a sp60 with 410s and maybe at turbo 400, all I can see in the trans number area of the build sheet is 400.

Re: '68 GMC Camper Special
Hey that is great! I wish I was renting up somewhere like Boulder Creek instead of fighting mortgage payments back here. anyway, back to the truck. He should be able to get papers after being left on his property that long. BTW, she's more accurately known as a "Custom Camper"

Re: '68 GMC Camper Special
Thanks special-K!!
It sounded wrong when I was typing it out yesterday. All the trucks I've owed thus far in my life have been base models, This will be my first custom anything. I don't plan on doing much but making her run good and stop good, fix some of the more major rot. I need a newer right fender and rockers for sure. The doors are wasted in every way but I have a extra set that are in much better shape. Just need to make the decision on where to buy the sheet metal.
