little intro and question

Little background before my question......
I've been working on a 84 shortbox 4x4. I know, I know, nobody likes the newer stepsides but it was free and rust free stuff is really hard to find up here
I know, crappy iphone pics, bad lighting, and no room in the garage, but its all i got
4" springs, 3" body, 35" mudders, 454, etc, etc. I got a really good deal on it and most of the parts i had laying around

Re: little intro and question

I found a guy parting out a 89 Blazer and was looking for a newer style grill so I went to look at it. The whole front clip was in better shape than mine and the newer style grill so I was going to give him $250 for the clip. Then he tells me he has a custom frame, air bagged and body dropped blazer for sale. So I look at that one. Basicaly just a shell, but all new sheet metal, new quarters, doors, molded in tailgate, roll pan. So to try and make a long story a little short, I ended up buying the 2 wheel drive and the 4x4 both for $500 I drove the 4x4 the 30mins or so home, runs like a top. the 2 wheel had to trailer of course. on to pics

Re: little intro and question

I sold the front clip off my 4x4 for $150. The drive train out of the blazer for $300. So now I have everythig I need to finish my 4x4 plus a air bagged 2 wheel for $50!!
Now for my question(finally lol): The 2 wheel drive has no dash, has anyone ever put a 67-72 dash in a squarebody? pics?
Thanks for reading my long winded story lol

Re: little intro and question

well you have a good score, but did the guy take the 2dw blazer and put a regular truck back window and sheet metal/ was going to make a weird truck out if it?

Re: little intro and question

Yea, it has a truck back window and roof welded on. Kind of a really short unibody truck. Looks ok but not really my style. I think I'm just going to make it a full time convertible with no roll up windows. Like a roadster

Re: little intro and question

nice. I was not liking the unibody truck style. but a full convertible will look great at shows

Re: little intro and question

So....no one has put a 67-72 dash in a square body?
Any other options? I know the impala dashes look good but finding one round here would be near impossible. I want this thing to be kind of a rat road with min interior and wiring
