You can use 80 model headlight bezels and buckets. Not sure what those are in the pic.

Re: 76 swb c/10 round to square headlight help

those square lights on the first truck look ok, but I hate the 80 square buckets and lights, I'd leave them round looks much much better IMO then any square ones.

Re: 76 swb c/10 round to square headlight help

Lol..even though tech i'd be x5...he was lookin for info..not opinions..funny thhing..the 80 square lights are growing on me..example..the blazer above..looks AMAZING....wouldn't change a thing about it..(Except owners of course) and all the hardware and parts you need to put the big square lights in will have to come from an 80 model truck...I believe 80 was the only year this option was available..and even some 80's had round lights iirc.

Only the Silverado's had square headlights in 1980. Scottsdales, Cheyenne's, and Custom Deluxes all had round.

Yep, he'd have to do a complete clip swap. He'd be better off to go with 80 stuff.

Re: 76 swb c/10 round to square headlight help

I'm not sure how the rectangular head lights would work in a stock 70 bezel. The truck with the flames the op posted was channeled and as a result the bezels were cut down to match, that why they look alright.

No kiding, all base model 81-87's had the headlight set up yours does. That has nothing to do with the conversion he is referring to.

Actually the truck was "sectioned" not channeled. If it has been channeled (doesn't look like it) that would not have any effect on the width of the fenders.

Not trying to be a smart a** in any way possible (computer always makes us seem this way) but could u explain what "sectioned" would be? I always thought that's what it was...

Re: 76 swb c/10 round to square headlight help

Channeled is an old school term for body drop. That where the floor was cut creating a "channel" lowering the body on the frame. What appears to be done to this truck is chopped (the roof) and "sectioned" (the body). There has been a horizontal section sliced from the middle of the body, and welded back together.

I feel that has what has been done to the body, but that still doesnb't explain the headlight bezel. It looks to me like a 73-79 bezel thats been cut to accept the square light.

Re: 76 swb c/10 round to square headlight help

ok guys thanks for all the votes and the info. this is my daily driver been working on it for awhile and thought it would give it a touch of custom by doing the front headlight swap on it. i have some pics of it when i first dragged it to the house with its black spray can finish and bondo filled panels.but think that's another section of the site to post. anyways thanks again
