Re: The Anti Farm Truck

While popular, 2 bolt mains are not bad..... if the number of bolts made a difference, you would have 4 on each rod...... I got 2000 passes out of a 2 bolt 454 with a cast crank

Go with the 427, you are going to need all the torque you can to ge that truck moving...

That tall deck 427 in stock form won't do much for you. If you're serious about going fast, take that 427 block and drop in a stroker crank and build yourself a 500+ inch big block.

4.75 stroke crank in that 427. I built a 555 out of a 427 tall deck. it went 11.20's on pump gas.

A two bolt with studs and steel caps is more than strong enough> Have fun

Re: The Anti Farm Truck

427 and NOS some what mild until it breaks then build the bigger big block. Tracks around here are 1/8 mile so hit the button on a 175 shot.

Re: The Anti Farm Truck

Nothing wrong with a 2 bolt 350. Actually stronger then a 4 bolt with splayed caps. I have built a few of them and have never had a problem. One I shifted at 7800RPM. Put an 81 Malibu wagon in the low 11's with it.

Re: The Anti Farm Truck

You can go as fast as your wallet takes ya. What have you gotten done so far cause you cant just drop a fast motor inside the truck without dabbin in suspension and braking.

Junkyard LS + turbo. Never before in hot-rodding history has 700+ flywheel horsepower been so cheap and easy.
