switching points to hei

if someone could tell me how to switch from points to hei in a 69 i sure would be much obliged. and if you could tell me what parts i need also that would be great too. thanks!

Its not very hard. Unless you do what I did and screw up. If I were to do it over again I would mark everything. And I mean EVERYTHING. Instead of 2-3 hrs it took me about 14 hrs total. Mark where your vacumn advance is, mark where your distributor is. You will need a 12 ga wire to run to your fusebox in the unfused ignition slot. Un hook your old wiring from your coil and starter, you can remove it if you wish or tuck it away somewhere. As far as parts go you will need the hei distributor, rotor, coil, and hei wires. If I missed anything I am sure someone will chime in. Also here is a faw about this.

I was cleaning out my garage the other day and found a box of OEM terminals that are used in the bulkhead connector (firewall side). They come in handy when replacing the original resistor wire. You just pull out the old resistor wire, crimp new wire to the new terminal and slide it back in the bulkhead connector. If you want one, let me know. I would be happy to send one to you.
