Does all the aftermarket trim have to be bolted/screwed on, or does someone sell some that can be put on with the double sided tape that are used on current trucks/cars?

The stock style trim is designed for clips and screws, I suppose that you could glue it on somehow.
If you're concerned about rust, then use a sealer where all the attaching points are and regularly hose dirt trapped behind the moldings. Also, you could put a strip of black tape or something along the edges that touch the paint.

I wasn't going to use trim again so I filled all the holes before I painted. Now, I think I have changed my mind and I don't want to drill holes again....

Well, I suppose that you could remove the studs from the molding clips and use two-sided tape on them, don't know if they would be secure enough though.
Just which trim pieces are you referring to?

Upper and lower molding...

I'm going to use double-sided tape for my upper and lower moldings. Use a good quality tape...3M...get some at your local paint/bodyshop supply shop. SC

use whatever they put on the front door of my freakin house............

If it were me, I'd drill the holes again. I'm still in the process of taking mine off and it's the original 28 year old stuff and it's not coming off easy.

You might call the people at LMC though. They say that their kits have plastic adhesive clips that replace the original metal clips. I'm not sure if they replaced all of them or not.

In 71-72 they used a 3m type clip that used the tape to mount the chrome through the middle portions of the chrome and a couple of clips on the ends. I used all metal clips on my 71 and I am using the stick on type on the upper chrome as it was from the factory, after using it on the bed chrome I thnk I made a mistake by not using it on the other truck as it holds things very well. The venders will have the stick on clips you need.

Thx for the info. I'll be going back with new trim eventually myself.

While we're on the subject, how did you get your old metal clips off. Like the ones bolted to the fenders?

By using the stick on clips I don't have to drill any holes for the top or bottom molding?
