How much for Vintage Air?
Hello all! I'm getting closer to buying my first 71 C10 and the truck I'm looking at doesn't have AC, which I think is a necessity in Houston. I was wondering if anyone had any experience having a Vintage Air system installed and what I can expect to pay for the system and installation. I'm looking for a clean look, meaning I don't want to have the vents or controls showing at all if possible. Thanks!!

If I recall correctly, the VA kits run about $1500+

Re: How much for Vintage Air?
What would a shop charge to install a VA system?

Re: How much for Vintage Air?
I think the price is around $1200 for a VA setup. I think its a little cheaper if you don't need the compressor maybe around $200? I picked my setup on Ebay for a good price.

Re: How much for Vintage Air?
i put the sure fit kit in mine. it was an easy install. it came with everything but pulleys and belts. pulleys ar hard to find if you have a short water pump. you have to have a crimper for ac lines or take them and have the ends crimmped.

Re: How much for Vintage Air?
I can tell you from experience the surfeit kits with compressor and brackets and controller, belts and cables, run about 1100-1200. That isnt installed. I live here in houston a d have installed several of these in my own cars and trucks and for others as well. The general price that most shops charge is roughly 800-1000 to install. I don't charge nearly that much to install them. If you are mechanically inclined you can probably do it yourself. If you want you can pm me to talk more about it.
