250 cid vacuum help

On the 250 which port dies the vacuum advance hook up to? Mine is a 70 and what do your timing marks look like?

the port on the lower part of the carb, that has vacuum all the time when running at idle is the one that the advance goes to, the timing marks should be a line across the harmonic balancer and a small plate on the left side of the timing gear cover. most of the time they are real dirty and need to be cleaned off to see the marks. hope this helps...

I have 2 ports close to each other and one by itself at the base. The air cleaner was hooked to it. I since went with a different air cleaner.
