Door weatherstripping /rubber

What is the best way to install this stuff, without getting adhesive all over everything....I am having a heck of a time holding this stuff up and trying to get the glue to set up.........any ideas? Does sofseal make this for our trucks also?

I THINK that the best way of using the gorilla snot is to apply to both faying surfaces and allow to skim up for 10-15 minutes, then install. Check directions closely. I'm not 100% here...

Maybe a way to avoid making a mess is to apply light duty masking tape to the sections most likely to get adhesive on it...or maybe coating with vaseline prior to glue??????

Model 12 is right, put the stuff on both surfaces and let dry for about 5 10 minutes, Plus I use clamps in the corners.

Thats what I did and let it dry for 1.5 beers before I stuck it on. Those little acid brushes come in handy for spreading the snot around.
Anybody else tried a 73 and up seal? I put one on my pax door. Had to cut a bunch of rubber off of it but no one has noticed. That style is so much easier to put on and if your not concerned with the exact factory look it works OK.

I was too cheap to buy the new correct weatherstripping for my truck....as well as broke....so I used the weatherstripping from the 91 lumina van I'm junking out....works great, just need to pinch the seals with pliers here and there so it clamps on to the edges on the truck.

I had a heck of a time holding mine in position, until I got smart and went to OfficeMax and bought a box of the largest paper clamps they sell. These are the ones made from black spring steel, with the wire things on each side to open the paper clamp. The size I got would probably hold a stack of papers over 1" high. Anyway, a box of 12 was less than 5 bucks. I used the clamps to hold the rubber in position (until the adhesive was solidly set) in the corners and where the body opening jogs, right behind the striker. They worked like a charm. It was like having 3 or 4 sets of hands. It made a difficult job go pretty easily. Hope this helps.
