Power Steering High Pressure Hose Mystery

I am in need of a replacement high pressure power steering hose for an Integral Power Steering setup. The hose that is now leaking was shaped like this. The part that attached to the steering gear was bent so it would fit properly under the inner fender with a portion of it secured to the frame, along with the return hose, with a hold down bracket. From the frame it looped back along the frame towards the engine to another hold down bracket and then it went to the power steering pump. Does anyone know what I am talking about? I bought a replacement from NAPA but the part that attached to the steering gear did not have the correct bends and the only way to secure it to the steering gear would be to bend it or cut out a portion of my new inner fender. Thanks guys.

Re: Power Steering High Pressure Hose Mystery

NAPA shows two OEM style hoses and two *universal* style hoses for a 68 C-10 with a bigblock

Check the numbers, I have an idea that they sold you the Universal style hose they had on the shelf instead of ordering an oem style hose that should fit.

Outside of factory hoses across the counter at the dealership I have always had pretty good luck with the NAPA OEM style hoses fitting the application. There may be slight changes just to bypass the copyright laws but it should be pretty close to just right.

there is another active thread on the exact same topic. Pretty sure the final word was get one made, or bend what you buy.
