master cylinder help needed.

ok this is a conglomerate project I am working on on the side. its a 56 Packard clipper that I am doing a conventional power brake conversion on a poor mans budget. lol. I am using an 83 Camaro booster which has fit very nicely were I need it and am hoping to use a 67-72 drum/drum master but need one without the deep hole in it. I need a drum drum master that looks like the one on the right in the pic without the deep hole. everyone they pull up on the computer at the parts store is a reman with the deep hole. whos got a part number I can check out.

Re: master cylinder help needed.

I looked but couldn't come up with a number. I had the same problem with a dodge plow truck a couple weeks back. (needed a shallow hole M/C but had the deep hole M/C on it and it had no brakes - go figure!)

Would it be possible to make a longer push rod?

I fought the same problem on my '72...the double bail cylinder in those pictures is for disc only....I picked up the same one at Autozone and fought no pedal after bleeding several ways. The single bail for the cap that runs length wise is the one you want.

Re: master cylinder help needed.

Summit Racing sells something like this...
probably other places also.

You will need to know the bore diameter and length needed.

"brake cylinder push rod extender"

the o-ring holds it in place, but you might need to notch the o-ring
a little bit to let air out of the hole when you push it in.
