Re: How Low With "20s

I ran 20x8.5's w 5" BS on a 4/6 drop and no where near any issues. There were 20's on my current truck and its 5/7 with no issues. He ran 5.25 BS I believe.

4/6
20x8.5 w/ 255/35
22x9.5 w/ 285/35
I dont remember the backspacing, but it was whatever comes standard on these wheels. They were not special ordered or anything.

Re: How Low With "20s

5/7 drop
18x8's w/5.25 bs (5" bs would be better) 245/45-18's
20x10 w/5" bs 295/40-20's
No problems w/potholes during the daily grind w/those size tires (35 or 30 series would make me nervous).

DUDE, IVE SEEN PICTURES OF YOUR TRUCK A 100 TIMES AND I THINK IT IS AWESOME. ITS MY SCREEN SAVER AT WORK.(ALONG WITH MANY OTHERS) I REALLY LIKE THE STYLE PERFECT BLEND OF OLD/NEW SCHOOL. ALSO YOUR PHOTO GALLERY IS GREAT AND REALLY HELP FULL. I WAS WONDERING ABOUGHT YOUR REAR SET UP. I LIKE THE IDEA OF USING THE EXISTING LEAF SPRING WITH THE AIR BAG. THAT SEAMS LIKE IT IS WAY CHEAPER THAN GOING WITH A FOUR LINK OR SOMETHNG LIKE THAT. PLUS ITS PROBABLY MORE LIKE STOCK RIDE?WHAT WAS THE APPROX COST(JUST PARTS) FOR YOUR BAG SET UP. I ONLY HAVE ABOUGHT $3500 TO INVEST IN WHEEL, TIRES AND DROP. WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE BEST WAY TO GO. I GUESS I ASSUMED THAT BAGS WERE TO EXPENSIVE FOR ME. SORRY FOR SO MANY QUESTIONS. HOPE FULLY YOU'LL READ THIS.
THANKX.

Re: How Low With "20s

If 3500 is your total budget for everything I would suggest this. Buy the tires and wheels you really want, but get the right size tires for a little more drop later. Just so you know mine are 245/40/20 and 295/45/20. With that done I would get a set of 3" DJM spindles for the front, and a flip kit with a C-notch for the rear. Do some shopping and most of this should fit your budget.

With that done start saving for bags. Everything you have done so far will not be wasted. If you want to do bags on a budget, contact Jason at www.***************** and get an estimate. There may be companies cheaper but you will pay more for shipping and they don't offer customer service. I have yet to hear a bad report on Jason.

What ever you do, DO NOT BUY FROM AIM OR CHASSIS TECH. They are crooks and will screw you if they can.

Thanks for the compliment on my truck. Hopefully I will have it back soon...

Re: How Low With "20s

ok the question i have now is the front bag set is seem s pretty straight forward, but what do you advise for the rear set up? ( keep budget in mine)
also you said spindles with flp kit. wont that make it sit lower in the back?
also what back spacing do i need to make sure everything claers when i go with bags.( can you list tire/wheel size and bs again ) you guys are great.
if i cant get this figured out i going with a 5"/6" with 17" or 18"s but im really interested in trying to go with "20s and a bag set up.

Re: How Low With "20s

If you are thinking you want 20's a lil bit..GET THEM THE FIRST TIME. Dont spend your money 2x. You will wish you got them if you dont the first time...especially if you go the bag route. heck ..if you want 17's you could get a full set for 7-800 bux with tires..then bag it..or spend 1500 -2000 or so and get 20's and save for the bag setup.

WHat is this saving thing I keep mentioning???? lol

GOOD POINT THERE'S NOTHING WORSE THAN SPENDING THAT MUCH AND WISHING YOU'D GONE BIGGER. AMERICA'S TIRE QUOTED ME $1800 OUT THE DOOR FOR "20 EAGLE ALLOY 211'S ( TORQUE THRUST COPYS)
IM JUST WANT MY TRUCK TO LOOK RIGHT. I DID'NT WANT TO HAVE 20'S AND NOT HAVE THE TRUCK SIT LOW ENOUGH. KNOW WHAT I MEAN.
AT THIS POINT I THINK IM GOING TO START WITH THE "20'S AND A "5/"6 STATIC DROP. MAYBE BAGS IN THE FUTURE. IF SOMEONE WILL GIVE ME SIZING ON THE WHEELS AND TIRES SO EVERYTHING CLEARS FOR THIS DROP KEEPING IN MIND BAGS FOR THE FUTURE

I would go with SCOTI's sizes and backspacing. If you want 20's up front,... substitute the 18's for a 20x8 w/5" bs and a 245/40-20 tire. You can see what it will look like on either truck,... by the pics they posted.

Sorry, I forgot part of the front when I posted that. You can cut your factory coils and get close or buy a 2" spring for the front. They won't cost much and you can sell them when you bag it.

My rear set up is about as basic as you can get but it's not super low. I did this because I did not want to cut my bed for a larger notch. You have to decide how low you want to be before you start buying parts. If you want a simple set up that doesn't cost much use the route I took.

If you want 20's buy 20's. Do not buy wheels or suspension twice. There are quit a few decent styles out there in 20's that can be had cheap enough. If you follow what I have suggested you can have 20's now and a static drop. The only thing you won't use when you add bags are the front springs. Everything else I have siggested will stay in place when you bag it....
