It's so sad to see it...

For those guys that remember 82BlackBeast and his truck I happen to talk to him a few months ago and mentioned that he was selling the truck. He had to let something go and it had to be the truck. Below is what the truck once looked like. This had a glass like finish to it. He had added a 400 small block with all the goodies including trick flow heads, cam, exhaust, holley carb and intake. Also it had 3.73 rear gears and a 700r4 with about a 3K stall I think. One thing awesome about it was that it had 305/50/17 wheels in back with no tires sticking out. He had the axle narrowed and the fenders in the bed were widened with no fender lines. The only thing needed to this truck was some door panels. Very minor work there. I had ridden in it before and it was so nice of a truck.

Well today I happen to see the truck and almost cried...almost I was leaving work for lunch and heard the truck's engine drive by down the road. I hoped in my truck to chase it down. Well I pull up behind it and look to see no tailgate. It did have a roll pan and vette lights in it. Nice upgrade with the roll pan. I knew it was the truck for sure from seeing the rear tires from behind and also the wheels being the same. Then I saw it The guy who owns it now had painted the truck with cheap racing stripes. I'm talking NEON BRIGHT YELLOW cheap house paint looking stripes. It goes from the front of the hood to the roll pan. I couldn't stop thinking how worng this truck had become. It was one of the nicest trucks I've ever seen online or in person and I'd ridden in it. The driver thought he was billy bad a$$ with the truck all painted up. At the next light I stopped by him and couldn't stop staring and shaking my head.

What is the workd coming to? I mean everybody's tastes are different but why ruin a "masterpiece" like that? The truck was painted by the "man" himself of paint and body in this area. I've talked with the guy who painted it orignially and said even he was impressed with the work. I just don't get it

Re: It's so sad to see it...

I thought Matt had 275/40's up front and 315/35's out back? A 305/50 would have a LOT of sidewall.

Re: It's so sad to see it...

DroppedZ84- You may be right. I was thinking that tire size I posted but I bet it was bigger.

Dave- I thought you might recognize it. I wish I had his number when he was selling it. I would have contacted you. I asked him how much he wanted for it and it was over $10K.

hotrodhomi- Sure was ocbaud's. A few of us in the southwest area were meeting at LOHRTBT's old house for a meet and greet.

87stepper- I'm hoping to see it soon again. I'll take a pic of it with my camera phone and post it here. I think he may work near me.

Re: It's so sad to see it...

Yeah it sucks when you sell something and the new owner turns out to be a tastless loser .The guy I sold my big red 4x4 to put smaller tires on and a set of those ugly hoop steps. this is what it used to look like.
