88 Body style question

Could a 88 Chevy 1 ton chassis cab have the same body as the 81-87? Could a 88 Chevy 1 ton dually have the same cab as the 81-87?
I am bidding on a truck like this on eBay and cab appears to be 81-87 but the serial # checks out to be a 88. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 88 Body style question

Is it a crew cab? 4 doors? I believe crew cabs, suburbans, and blazers all kept the same 73-87 body style until 91.

Re: 88 Body style question

AFAIK, the std. cab dually could be had in either body style for 88 & 89.

Re: 88 Body style question

Many 3/4 and 1 ton regular cab "fleet" trucks kept the old body style through 90 or 91. We had some here. Now we have a couple 2000 model 3/4 ton trucks that still have the 88-98 body style.
