A question about buying American parts for the Canadians

I am running into issues buying parts all the time online ranging from ridiculous duty and shipping charges, to major shipping delays, from all sorts of vendors from ebay stores/people, to summit, etc. Is there something I'm missing that causes me to get duty charges of up to 35% on parts then on the next order %5? Is UPS the cause of all the problems? Not that I don't like supporting canadian dealers, but to be honest, the pricing of the american dealers even after the prison rape at the border are still cheaper. Just curious as to whether this is a problem I'm having or everyone is having

USPS is usually cheapest when shipping to Canada. No Broker fees, But there is a size limit and some companies only ship UPS or fedex and won't use USPS. Some customers will have an american address just over the border at a ship center and walk it back to Canada.

We ship products pretty much worldwide. With NAFTA there is no duty any more on USA made products. They key word is USA made. If imported into the usa first it does not count. We don't charge anything extra to ship to Canada. If its under $20 (canadian$) it usually goes duty free. You will have to pay the GST and PST fees (TARIFFS) and If using a broker like Fedex,USPS etc they will charge extra for their services. We have found the least expensive is the USPS and also the easiest. Most of the money goes to the Canadian Gov.

Think Canada is bad try shipping a large body part to Germany and see what happens

I have more issues with Canada than I've had with Germany, But Spain you might as well tie it to a ballon and set it free. If it gets there your lucky.

Germany you have to cut the panels up and be welded back together by the customer due to their shipping laws.They only allow like a 3m x 3m size the last I remember. Of course that is on usa parts also if you do not comply with their law the products are confiscated and the customers gets nothing.

We have very little problems shipping to Canada. Most all the performance parts we sell can get their in two days unless the customer is way up their. Of course the fees still apply. once you get used to it its not hard

I dread to think what shipping large parts to the UK would be, I need header gaskets and found em at Summit $11.99 by the time I hit the checkout they had jumped to $76.00, this is not taking into account the customs charge when they arrive....needless to say I didn't get em.

These guys are good for sure. The shipping calculator seems right for ups is u use the usps option as your ups shipment. Wishing I lived in the US at this point, the government is going to make about $4000 is money towards my build once it's all said and done, but such is life, thaks for the replies

I was ordering a lot from the states too and also got tired of the unknown charges that were usually retardedly high.. I ended up getting a broker and now I know what I am going to get charged.

Yeah, I cant wait to see what they are going to stick me for when I get my care package from Nate @ Porterbuilt. He just shipped out front and rear drop members on friday.

quite the truck you picked up, pretty jealous, I ordered a few cpp parts and a pile off ebay to get me going again, just get choked when I pick up parts and get the smack in the face from the additional fees
