Big window cab or small window cab?????

So I have talked to people here and there about what is more popular or more rare. Is it the big window cabs or the small window cab? What do you guys think ? I have been told that big window cabs are hard to find? I guess this can be said the same about short bed trucks and long bed trucks. What is all of your inputs. To me, 60-66 body style long or short bed, big window cab or small window cab is a great body style to have either way.

So let me know you input

Re: Big window cab or small window cab?????

I'm partial to my shorty stepper, but I love the look of a short fleet too!
I'm the only one in my area that has a SBW(small back window). That's not a national average, or by any means a trend, just an observation.
My buddy's got a BBW (big back window NOT big beautiful woman, she's mine!) and I noticed it's easier to look behind you when you're burning out!

I've always liked the small window. For some reason the cab style and the small window look cool together.

Big windows give you redneck. When it is hot your neck is scorching. When they are parked though the BBW's look awesome. I have owned both, with the small window you can tuck into the corner without anyone seeing you from behind.

X2!!

I LOVE to putter around town about sundown all tucked up into the corner of the cab, sittin good and low!
You should see the stares you get at an "empty" truck that's driving!

Re: Big window cab or small window cab?????

I've owned both, and I prefer Small back window... Like gofastnut said, Its a small comfort knowing that people behind you cant see the back of your head...

My BBW will eventually be swapped for a sbw.. But for now, my rear window is tinted 5%... Extremely dark...

Re: Big window cab or small window cab?????

After seeing a lot of AMAZING trucks at the Ft Worth Goodguys show, I have decided that I like the look of the SBW better. Can't really tell why, I just like the look better. I do think the BBW is cool, though, and gives better visibility, but something about the SBW just looks RIGHT.

Re: Big window cab or small window cab?????

My '66 had a small back window and I loved it. I like the looks of both, but prefer the small one. It was nice on really hot day's to not get fried when the sun was behind you. After owning that truck everytime I hopped in a truck with a big back window I felt like everyone was watching me, it was really wierd getting used to a big back window.

Re: Big window cab or small window cab?????

I like em' both. The BBW cabs can get hot in the sun. I prefer the SBW because it gives the cab a more vintage look and make it closed in and cozy like a hot rod 3 window coupe.

Neither one would cause me to buy or not buy a truck if its a great deal. FWIW

I like the way you think....lol

For me I like the short box fleets with the big back windows....
I do have 2- SBF with a small window and 1- LBF small window truck But all the rest of them are all SBF big window trucks. But thats just my opion and what I like, I am confident in saying there must have been for small window trucks made then big windows.....

Re: Big window cab or small window cab?????

I think there's a thread asking this same question.
And you get some of the same answers.
Some will say one is better than the other, but it seriously is a personal preference.
Maybe someone likes the big clear sleek open feel of the bbw.
Maybe someone likes the small private old truck look of the small. Maybe it's neither. Maybe it's both.
Maybe it's for different reasons.
Then there's the short bed / long bed preferences.
Also the step side or fleet.
Red or green or blue.
I kinda chuckle when someone says one is better or best.
.
As for the conversion threads going from small to big window being the argument for tge big window being better?... -people convert from small window to big because they want big and big is harder to find -small window cabs are easier to find.
And it would be silly to weld in patch metal on the rarer big window opening. Just as silly as making the rarer short bed a long.

That said,
I like them all.

Re: Big window cab or small window cab?????

Mine is a Shorty fleet side small window. I like the looks of both windows. I think like everyone else the small window is nice for hiding. You know sliding the seat belt on in front of cops. The little bit of a blind spot can be a pain. Im just used to my back window in my Silverado. I don't think I'd change to a big window though. Plus my truck is flat black and my windows are tinted 20%. It kind of blends into the truck. Looking for a siding window for the truck now. Just my $0.02

I have a short stepside with small window, and would cut off one of my fingers for a short fleetside with a big back window

Re: Big window cab or small window cab?????

I think the big back window makes the truck look more modern..somehow. I don't know, it's just a feature I associate with newer trucks, so it takes away from the classic look of these trucks to me. I guess it might be more useful when driving and whatnot, but for as much money as they cost over a sbw cab, meh.
