4 vs 5 quart oil pan fitment?

Hello everyone.
Been a fan for years and am restoring an old crusty but stock 67 C10. I am putting together a L31 5.7/350 small block for it. Looking at stock type oil pans at a popular online parts website and I am seeing a 4 and a 5 quart capacity oil pan (not including the filter capacity). Will the 5 quart pan clear the crossmember and fit okay? The 5 quart pan is only about 1/4" deeper at the rear but in the middle has a much steeper angle.

I use a Milodon 30401 6 qt pan in my 71 small block no clearance problems on cross member . This pan is 8 1/2 sump. http://www.milodon.com/new-images/30401.GIF

Any reason you don't want to use the truck pan on it?

The big block in my 68 takes 8 quarts on an oil change. I used a late model oil pan I had sitting around. That's what it came out to.

I believe they are the same. I made my own dipstick out of several different tubes and sticks I had so I'm not 100% mine is reading correct but I run 5 qts in my 3/4 ton L31-R.
