My Camaro Headers Install pictures

Headers seem to be about the most asked about question on this board. I just installed a set of Headman Elite full length Camaro Headers on my lowered 1976 C-10. The Camaro headers fit 1967-1981, here are some photos so you can see the clearance. The passanger side went in easy from the top, the drivers side I had to go from under neath. I still need to hook it up to my new exhaust H pipe.

How are the '82-'87 different? I have an '87 and want to put headers on it. Someday it will be bagged and I don't want them to drag.

Re: My Camaro Headers Install

im curious to know whats the difference between getting headers specifically made for the truck as oppose to getting camaro headers. Is it a cost thing?

Re: My Camaro Headers Install

Car headers do cost less. However, fitting for lower trucks is ideal. 3/4 length and some full length headers don't drop below the frame rails. Exhaust is nicely tucked up.

Re: My Camaro Headers Install

Wow, these do have a lot less hang than the truck headers. Just one question for those running these headers. Have you had to buy a heat shield for the starter or do they hold up pretty well with the headers being that much closer?

Re: My Camaro Headers Install

I don't understand why you used a camaro application for full legth headers. Every company makes full length headers for our trucks... its the 3/4 length ones that are harder to come by.

Because the full length truck headers hang down way to low and since my truck is lowered the truck headers are very close to the ground.

Thanks! Headman calls it thermal coating, I guess it is very similar.
