Your opinion please

just browsing craigslist a bit and here is what I found, I figure if I can pick it up for $1k it will be a pretty good deal

http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/840716677.html

I really really dont need this but I figure with a set of vortec heads, cam swap and some cab corners it would be a pretty sweet little truck for under $2000?

I think I'm going to take a look at it tomorrow

Cochino: Looks like a pretty easy resto job for the $$$. Personally, I wouldn't hesitate to jump on this one. Looks like a good solid truck.

I agree too. It's probably not that bad even for the asking price.

The only downside to the vortec swap is the TBI/Vortec intake is a little pricy.

Re: Your opinion please

Just got off the phone with the owner, he says it smokes a little and fouls a plug occasionally but otherwise runs great, interior is charcoal and a 9/10, only rust is behind one rear wheel and surface rust starting on one of the doors and only a couple of minor dings here and there.

I'm out the door to look at it and possibly make an offer. woo hooo

I usually just wait until I am close to broke and then they start falling in my lap ha ha ha.

Well I went and looked at it and of course it's not as nice as it looks in the pictures but I still think it would be a great buy at $1500. He had another guy that is supposed to pick it up today for $1250 but he didnt know if he would show or not. I really dont need it so I am going to give him a really lo w offer if he calls me back tonight.

Re: Your opinion please

Heck ya, that would be a nice score if you can get it for $1300 or even $1500. I just picked up a wrecked 1990 G-van with 85K miles last week for $475 that has a tight little TBI 5.7L, 700R4 and four new tires. Also has a half tank of gas....that alone is worth $60. Probably get $150 at the cruser once I pirate all the good parts off of it.

I love craigslist.....where even a blind squirrel can find a nut once and a while.

Re: Your opinion please

I know where you can get a set of vortec low mile rebuilt heads and intake for cheap...but the shipping might ruin the deal.
