cab insulation
I saw a post on here recently that had a picture of some kind of insulation that looked like a high density floor mat.
Now I can't find it. Any ideas who's post it was? Thanks.

Re: cab insulation
could have been mine
hardware store rubber floor mat over the usual sound deadener stuff No carpet to get wet when I go kayaking and stuff, just the mat. joints bonded with rubber cement so it is pretty water proof. Decently quite, but I still have some wind noise, rattles and stuff to take care of |

Re: cab insulation
The rubber mat is from princess auto, their checker plate stuff installed upside down. Used a cheese grater bondo file to remove the checker plate texture and rough surface where I wanted to glue. 1 seam at toe board, one just under front of seats. Rubber cement has held perfectly so far.
let the mat air out for a couple weeks before use, smells strongly like import rubber products |

Re: cab insulation
I wonder if it would be worth the drive from Yakima WA to B.C. To get this stuff.
Could be a great excuse for a road trip.

Re: cab insulation
this is what I used, it is about half price on sale
https://www.princessauto.com/en/48-i...t/PA0008681660 the spec says .31 inch thick. Whatever the thickness is it is thick enough to feel like it has some substance, but just thin enough to more or less conform to the straight edges of my tunnel....about the same as you'd expect carpet to drape over something I'd be surprised if you can't find something similar at home depot or some similar place |
