air redirection/blocking material

.
My A/C condenser is mounted 2 to 3 inches in front of my radiator on the outside of the core support where the radiator is on the inside of the core support.

My fans draw air through the rad well enough but from there the air doesn't really get pulled through the condenser as good as I would like. There's a 2 inch gap along the top and on the driver side between condenser and core support and a 4 inch gap on the passenger side.

I've considered several types of material for covering these gaps and am currently thinking on these...

Summit racing neoprene rubber sheets: https://www.summitracing.com/tx/part...9512/overview/

This is 1/4 inch thick 12"x12" panel of rubber that I can cut. I figure I can zip-tie or even screw these onto the condenser edges and let them get sucked into place by the fans to cover the gaps with the core support.

What have you guys used for sealing up radiator/core support/condenser air channels?

Thanks,

-klb

Re: air redirection/blocking material

1/4" seems a little thick. This could work if it is flexible enough. GM uses a similar tactic to direct air flow on the newer cars and trucks. Giving the air no other option but to travel through the condenser and radiator makes for more efficient cooling. I have also used dense foam weather stripping between the condenser and radiator core with some success. Good luck!

Yeah, there's also an 1/8 thickness. I'll handle them both before deciding which to use.

The Wife suggested silicone baking sheets and even gave me a couple from her Kitchen! They were not rigid enough!

Thanks,

Just looking for more ideas!

The 1/4 inch stuff is too thick. What they label 1/8 is more like about a quarter inch and is pretty good. Only did the top for now as there's no easy way to attach this to the core support and no room for power tools down low!

Here's the before pics:

Only did the top. I've also wired my fans so that I get fan #1 on when the A/C is switched on. I've also got the panels that seal core support to grill.

After...
