Re: questions about my 68 k-20 and lifting it

the perches are different widths eye to eye bro
you can just put perches off a 69-72 to get the lift

That's a good point. You could do that and flip the rear or use blocks. If you wanted to be different you could use the B52 kit from DIY and have a lot more options for springs and a better ride too.

Re: questions about my 68 k-20 and lifting it

everything on 67-68 suspension and steering is different and springs will need to be custom made OR swap all the mounts from a 69-72 which is what i would recommend. the front spring mounts on your 68 are cast and prone to cracking if your truck is going to be wheeled hard.

Re: questions about my 68 k-20 and lifting it

not 52" lift....
that kit uses the rear 52" springs allowing you to put them on the front of ur rig netting you at 4" of lift or more giv or take..
from what i hear the kit is way better than any other replacement lift kit giving you a better ride.
and listen to mudder man that comment u posted wasnt cool.

Well Switching the spring mounts is just a take off the old an bolt on the new type of thing
that way you can just use the tuff country springs

Re: questions about my 68 k-20 and lifting it

So you violated rules by cross posting and using language in your post that was censored due to the family friendly nature of this forum. Then you complain we don't answer fast enough then you get answers and call the sites co owner a rude ass? wow, welcome to the forums hope you can act right and make it past this week but I doubt it.

Re: questions about my 68 k-20 and lifting it

So that would be double posting which is against the rules. I issued a warning for the rudeness to the staff. I'm trying to cut some slack 'cuz you're new here, but we have a zero staff abuse tolerance. When you have a question please pick ONE area to post it in and exercise some patience. 99.99999% of the time you will get a correct and timely response.

Re: questions about my 68 k-20 and lifting it

well i have been on many forums and have never been met with such unwelcomeness.. sorry for being rude to begin with, was in a hurry to order some parts and was half joking to begin with, you all take it seriously and have rude comments even after i expalined and said sorry anyway... so no apology for that, i will not post here anymore if that is the "popular vote" lol..... i have been a corral, coloradok5, stangnet, thirdgen, ls1tech for years and have never had a problem from another member, and i have never been questions about "cross posting" if i don't get an answer in one section, i will post in another that it "fits" in.. which it did... if this is not acceptable i am sorry for that but have not had a problem with before

Re: questions about my 68 k-20 and lifting it

Cross posting is against the rules, being rude is never encouraged and you can stay as long as you like. This is hands down the best place for info on these trucks you'll ever find. But we have rules, we strive to be friendly, family friendly and we appreciate everyone pitching in to help keep it that way. If you don't get the answer you are looking for with your original post you can pm the mod to move it for you. If you have a question about where to post something you can pm a mod for an answer. Is this place perfect, no. Is it the best thing for chevy trucks?, heck ya.

Re: questions about my 68 k-20 and lifting it

A couple "LOLs" or something would have helped.I didn`t get that you were joking.Let`s just get started all over. This site is by no means anything but a friendly community of all walks of life from all over who also like various GM made trucks. You will see that, when needed, the site`s rules are what help keep it that way.Very little policing is required, but it`s there when needed.
Tuff Country is right.Look at any suspension company and you will see GM listed as 69-72.The design changed and the leaf width as well as perches are different.Try our 4wd vendors sticky.I think Alcan and Deevers are there.custom springs cost more, but perform better and that`s all you do,bolt them in.I`d at least look into it.
You`ll find alot of guys who hang in the 4wd area also hang at CK5,Pirate,and all the others. So we know where we stand when it comes to rude.

Re: questions about my 68 k-20 and lifting it

well i am sorry for the mis-communication.... i do like it here and believe i have something to contribute as well i have experience in many area's, new to 4x4ing in the last 4 years or so but have learned alot and built a pretty capable '87 blazer 4sp sm465 4" trimmin and 35's shackle flip and the tuff country's... was fun

but now have the 3/4 to be the tow truck to get everyone out of the big mess we get ourselves into, actually works pretty good stock lol
