Just do it! LS2/4l70E swap

Hello, I've been lurking here for a while now looking and reading. You have all been a very bad influence on me.

Here's the deal, my wife's 1968 short C10 is about to get dropped 3.5/5 and a engine & trans from a 07 Trail Blazer SS.

The drop kit I am using is form ECE (recommended by all most members) as well as converting the front to disk brakes also from ECE. The engine I just bought so I'll be waiting for it arrive. I also lucked out and found a CTS V oil pan on eBay last night, its new and included the pickup and baffle for 130 shipped!

Just a few pictures of the project,

Thanks! Is it complete? If so then I'd say you stole it. The ls2/4l70e I just bought has 16000mi and is complete right down to the electronic pedal control, I gave 4950 for it. WOW I got ripped off!

Cool truck man! I am planning a similar swap, but with a carb intake and maximum performance on a budget in mind =]

That seems to be the going price for a complete ls2 & trans. I've been looking for a motor for my project also.

Good luck with the build

Re: Just do it! LS2/4l70E swap

Nice looking motor! I used ECE motor/tranny mounts and their EFI fuel tank. The CTsV pan works great with the ECE parts. Take a look at my suburban build thread. It's got a 5.3/4L60E. Can't wait to see the install pictures.

Thanks, I've looked at your build thread a few times already, very nice indeed! I have to take my hat off to you for doing two huge projects at once. I just finished my 70 Z28/RS, a complete nut and bolt restoration that took me 4 years to finish. I wont be going to that extent with the truck right now. I just want to get it lowered, install the ls2 and drive it.

Ya I know the ece engine mounts work good with the CTsV pan, I got all of that info from your thread! Thanks eh. I am thinking about using Doug's headers too. Did you ever find out what dip stick works? I was hoping to use the CTsV dipstick. Greg

Beautiful truck. You left a tank in the cab, or are you actually using that tank?

Re: Just do it! LS2/4l70E swap

Thanks guy's

Fuel tank is under the bed(fuel cell guy), made a bracket to keep the original filler cap in place. Didn't want any body work to do... This will come later, maybe.
