Lights and wiring problems!!!

Just bought an 82 c30 crew cab dually, dash lights weren't working, I swapped out guage cluster from an 84 and replaced headlight switch...my dash lights still don't work(gauges do still work)...AND NOW...the cab lights aren't working and high beams flicker every now and then... One of the previous owners hacked the wiring to add a CD player and replaced the steering column with a 8?-95 column? so I'm not sure what wires go where or where to even start...

Re: Lights and wiring problems!!!

You'll need the 1982 wiring diagrams. Look in the back sections of the 1982 service manual.
The flickering lights are a column dimmer issue.
The 87 & 88 wiring manuals have the T400 CK diagrams that might include the correct pinouts for the harmonica connector on your column.

Re: Lights and wiring problems!!!

depending on the hack
might check where the grounds go to one
i've seen the cluster light wire (grey)used for power to the radio too
or to the memory
or even using the wrong illumination/dimmer wire
