I was considering cutting a coil out if i remember correctly thats 2 1/2" roughly per coil. I am running 30x9.50 R15 tires, does anyone know if i would have any clearance issues? its still at stock height

if you only cut off one round you will have no problems at all.

I've thought about cutting the coils on mine for now as well. Does anyone know if you can still get a good front end alignment if you cut them?

Alright, I've also found these springs, that are suppose to give you a 3 inch drop.

why dont you just do it correctly? put spindles on it so it keeps the same suspension and steering geometry and the ride isnt rough

I'm not too worried about the ride being rough. And at first I was planning on doing spindles and all, but I've decided I don't want to sink a lot of money into this truck like I have on others in the past.

There is nothing wrong with cutting a coil. You should be fine on alignment. I always do that before ordering lowering springs. Most of the time I'm happy with the ride, and I'm picky. Just make sure the rest of your suspension is in good shape.

Cutting 1 coil would not be a problem. Cutting more than that creates problems. And yes you can still get a wheel alignment afterwards. After I installed my drop spindles I had a hard time finding a place to get an alignment. Nobody wanted to do it for different reasons.

the ride wont be rough, the half ton spring even with 2 coils cut are still squishy little noodles. i got my neg camber where i wanted with room to spare after 2 coils. i have 29" tire and i rub pretty hard some times. i wouldnt do more then 1.5 coils with 30" tires and half ton coils

I've always clipped 2 coils from 1 ton springs for my 1/2 ton drops. Put longer bolts in the upper A arms. And cut the bumpstop pad off.
Flipped the rear.

Wrong maybe... works for me.

this would probably explain why mine was rough, im not a half ton guy
